At Råda School, we provide education for students from preschool class to grade 6.

Currently, there are 250 students at the school, distributed across seven classes. A large number of our students have a place in the after-school program, which consists of three departments.

About 40 people work at Råda School, distributed across seven teams. The educators work according to their qualifications and competencies.

During the school year, we are working on the development area of entrepreneurial learning/value-creating pedagogy with the aim of increasing students' motivation and participation to ultimately raise students' achievement. Råda School is located in a picturesque area with rich opportunities for outdoor education. The school has ample access to digital tools to support formative learning processes.

About the job

School libraries should promote the status of literature and interest in education, enlightenment, training, and research as well as other cultural activities.

We are now looking for a school librarian who wants to make a difference in Lidköping municipality. We want you to help develop the role of the school library as a pedagogical force in students' learning. As a school librarian with us, you, like all employees, will work to improve students' results. In the role of school librarian, you will be responsible for ensuring, together with school management and staff at our school units, that a school library operation is created that promotes students' reading motivation. Responsibilities

We work to ensure that the school library has a clear pedagogical function, whose primary task is to collaborate with teachers to strengthen students' language skills and digital competence and to create a school library for everyone.

You will work on developing students' media and information literacy and digital competence, as well as strengthening students' reading engagement, reading ability, and language and knowledge development. You will promote reading both in collaboration with the school's staff and independently.

You are responsible for the school library and work to ensure that the library is a learning environment that is socially, pedagogically, and physically accessible. This means, for example, that you are a natural part of teaching in schools and after-school programs. You will work to ensure that the school library is an active part of the school's value-based work and democratic mission. Your responsibilities also include media planning and purchasing, circulation, and media management. You are expected to participate in professional development initiatives aimed at developing the school library operations. Together with those responsible for other schools' libraries, you will build a common network for collegial learning. Your workplace may be at different units. You will be involved in the development and implementation of a school library plan for Lidköping municipality.

Who are you?

You have a degree in library and information science or another relevant academic degree.

You are creative, inspiring, think constructively, and create good relationships with both students and staff. You are driven to work closely with students and demonstrate the ability to positively influence children and students.
