The Department of Ear, Nose, and Throat Diseases (ENT) is part of the specialized surgery area, which also includes hand surgery, jaw surgery, and plastic surgery. Approximately 55 doctors work within ENT, divided into 2 sections: head and neck surgery/ phoniatrics (HH-Fon) and otorhinolaryngology and trauma (Otorino).

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a resident physician (ST-läkare) for the ENT department in Lund and Malmö. The position will formally belong to the HH-Fon section but will be distributed across both sections.

The position includes tasks and training for resident physicians within the framework of the requirements for specialist competence in ENT. This means participating in on-call work at the unit, in outpatient and surgical activities, as well as partial placement on the care ward. The main placement is in Lund, but you will also work in Malmö as we operate in both locations. Travel is required, as some parts of the training may take place at hospitals other than Skåne University Hospital (Sus).

To make the residency as rewarding as possible, your training plan will be developed in consultation with the program director and supervisor. The training occurs within the framework of the residency program with an individual supervisor and based on a residency contract developed together with the program director, section chief, and supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

You who are applying are a licensed physician with the authority to practice in Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least at level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Previous experience in the field of ear, nose, and throat and/or research is an advantage.

To meet patients in a respectful and empathetic manner, we expect you to be attentive and have good pedagogical skills. You value working in a team with colleagues from different professions and have an interest in development and research. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
