JOB DESCRIPTION

As a municipal lawyer, you will be close to the political and administrative core of the municipality. You will work broadly with both legal and administrative tasks and be an important support for the entire organization. In addition to ensuring legal security and quality in the municipality's decision-making processes, you will also contribute to investigative work, process development, and coordination efforts.

Your tasks will include:

• Legal advice and support to officials and elected representatives
• Interpretation and implementation of legislation within the municipality's various areas of activity
• Review of decision-making documents, agreements, and governing documents
• Representing the municipality as a representative in disputes and legal processes
• Conducting and compiling investigations, analyses, and decision-making documents
• Contributing to the development and quality assurance of the municipality's case processes and internal routines
• Internal training and support in relevant legal areas
• Secretarial duties in municipal bodies and other administrative tasks

You will work with a wide range of issues and have many contact points both internally and externally. As an employee in the secretariat unit, you will have good opportunities for professional development through internal and external training.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a law degree (jur.kand.), legal exam, or equivalent education. You have good knowledge in several legal areas, such as municipal law, administrative law, public access and secrecy, social law, GDPR, and property law.

Experience in legal work within the public sector, especially as a municipal lawyer, case officer, or committee secretary, is an advantage.

As a person, you are service-oriented, unpretentious, and solution-oriented. You are comfortable in both consultative work and independent responsibility and are good at quickly understanding varied legal issues. Additionally, you are confident in advising different target groups, including those without a legal background. You are structured and clear in your communication and familiar with various IT systems. You have an excellent ability to express yourself in Swedish, both verbally and in writing.
