Your mission

Your position will involve regular budget and debt counseling work at 90 percent, and 10 percent of the position will involve investigating death estate notifications and temporary estate management.

As a budget and debt counselor in Eslöv municipality, you will offer residents qualified budget and debt counseling, provide financial guidance, and help indebted individuals see other possibilities in their situation. You will actively assist in submitting an application for debt restructuring to the Enforcement Authority or help to achieve voluntary agreements with creditors. The work also involves meeting clients both in the office and conducting home visits.

The position means that you will drive independent processes, work with information in a preventive manner in various contexts, and have active collaboration with other authorities and creditors. Your main task is to support citizens who reach out by providing clear information and motivating a changed approach to their personal finances.

In your work as an estate administrator, you will operate based on the social services' responsibility to investigate estate notifications and temporarily manage estates where heirs could not be traced or notified. If the deceased leaves no one to arrange for the burial, it will be arranged by the municipality. You will investigate the estate and its possibilities to fully or partially finance a dignified burial. Your investigations will also form the basis for colleagues' further decisions regarding potential financial assistance for burial costs based on the Social Services Act to enable a dignified burial.

Your experience

• Swedish university education as either a civil economist/economist, social worker, lawyer, behavioral scientist, social scientist, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer.
• Proficient in the Swedish language in speech and writing and has good reading comprehension.
• Good computer skills.

Meritorious:

• Basic training in budget and debt counseling.
• Experience working with estate notifications and temporary estate management.

About the workplace

You will be two people sharing the assignment regarding budget and debt counseling and investigations of estate notifications. In the Unit for Financial Assistance, we handle investigations regarding financial assistance, housing issues, and social contracts, budget and debt counseling, as well as estate notifications. A senior social worker works together with the deputy unit manager on method development and implementation of development work.
