We are looking for a personal assistant for our client, a 12-year-old boy with autism who lives with his family in Malmö. This job is perfect for you if you are studying or need an extra job.

We are seeking a personal assistant for our cheerful 12-year-old client who enjoys being active. He loves being outdoors, whether on long walks or at playgrounds, swimming at the pool or the beach, and playing at home with his plastic animals and trains. He enjoys taking the bus and train. (He attends horse therapy every other weekend and enjoys the car ride there.)

Our client has autism and an intellectual disability. He does not have spoken language and communicates using visual aids, body language, sounds, and gestures. He needs help with personal hygiene, dressing, and during meals. He also needs support in developing communication to create an active daily life with activities he finds fun and meaningful.

The Role and Experience of the Assistant

In the role of his personal assistant, you will help with play and activities, care, and communication. Care includes assisting with meals and hygiene as well as any medication. You need to be attentive and able to interpret his signals and convey what he wants to communicate.

We are looking for a person with a lot of energy to keep up with the boy's activity level and who enjoys being outdoors. Good physical fitness is therefore a must. You should have good self-awareness, teamwork skills, and a respectful attitude, as the work is in the client's home where there is also a family, and you need to work well with both him and the rest of the family.

The working hours are mainly on weekends and occasional afternoons and evenings as needed, as the client is in school during the day.

If you have previous experience as a personal assistant and/or education in autism and intellectual disabilities, it is an advantage. Knowledge of working with a low-arousal approach and being able to support communication is also advantageous, but the most important factor is personal suitability and that you and our client enjoy each other's company.

It is required that you are a non-smoker and that you speak Swedish fluently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

Working Hours/Employment Rate

• Start immediately.

• Part-time approximately 30%

• Possibility of more hours as needed.
