Within the social care administration, about 1200 dedicated employees work to provide support and care to those in need in our municipality. The work takes place within elderly care, home care, disability services, social psychiatry, and individual and family care.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

We are now looking for a social worker for our team at the Child and Family Unit. If you want to be part of a wonderful and experienced team of social workers with a strong focus on children, you should apply for the position!

As a social worker, your main task is to handle cases according to SoL and LVU with a focus on children and young people aged 0-18 years, their families, and networks. You will investigate and assess the resources and assistance needs of children and families, as well as decide on and follow up various interventions at home. Placed children are followed up by another unit. We work from a systems theory perspective with a developed child perspective and use BBIC as a case management and documentation tool. With us, you will also receive an introduction with a mentor, external supervision, and very nice colleagues with many years of experience in social work with children and youth.

Ystad municipality is part of Backa Barnet together with Region Skåne and the Police nationally. Backa Barnet is a joint model to ensure children's rights, to promptly address children's needs, and to provide coordinated support. Social services will, due to new legislation, need to work more preventively, be more accessible, and equitable. Backa Barnet is a knowledge-based working method that meets societal challenges effectively.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and previous experience in public authority work with children and youth is an advantage. You have good knowledge of child development, and it is natural for you to be engaged with children at risk. You also see the child's network as an important resource in the change process.

You need to be resilient and have the ability to remain calm as there is often a high pace. Furthermore, you need to be secure, stable, and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work. You will meet many people in crisis and/or with complex life situations, which means you must be able to see opportunities, convey hope, and meet people in a respectful manner. You should have good reflective and analytical skills and be able to express yourself well in both speech and writing, as the work involves a significant amount of documentation and administration. You need to be able to work both independently and collaboratively.

Requirements:

• Degree in social work.
• Driving license B.
