Vejbyhem VoB offers sheltered housing and support housing for both women and men. The organization has extensive experience in providing protective interventions as well as psychosocial and practical support to people in various forms of vulnerability. Vejbyhem has one unit in Halland and one in Skåne, and we are looking for a person for the Skåne unit.

Vejbyhem VoB has a child team responsible for ensuring that the children who come to the sheltered housing receive the support and help they need and are entitled to. The work involves providing both psychosocial and practical support to the children who come to our sheltered housing.

The position involves varied tasks and a great opportunity to influence and shape your own work and how your workday looks. Working hours are scheduled during the day, but due to the nature of the work, there may sometimes be a need for more flexible hours, such as some evenings/weekends. On-call phone availability for residents will be part of the job, according to a rotating schedule.

To thrive in this role, you need to be secure in yourself and able to handle unforeseen situations calmly and professionally. It is beneficial if you have knowledge of and previous experience working with violence in close relationships. You need to be flexible and open to the fact that the workday may not always go as planned, but have the mindset to make the best of the day anyway!

Your role will involve being a contact person for children in the sheltered housing. The work will include conversation support tailored to the children's age and needs, providing context marking, information, and creating safety, trust, and hope for the future. The work may also involve organizing recreational activities for the children, accompanying them to police interrogations, and having conversations with children and parents together. The work involves collaboration with colleagues, authorities, and other actors, which you are expected to be positive about. You should be accustomed to documentation and record-keeping.

You will be based at the organization's office but will need to travel with a company car for work. Therefore, it is a requirement that you hold at least a B driver's license. Work tools will be provided by Vejbyhem. The position is a full-time employment where we apply a probationary period.

We are looking for someone with at least a two-year post-secondary education in social work or equivalent. Work experience in social work with children and/or families is an advantage, as is further training in the crisis conversation method Trappan.

Experience in support/treatment work with children, e.g., as a family therapist, conversation support with children in open reception, or as a counselor, or previous work in sheltered housing
