Job Responsibilities

A new research project is exploring the environmental impact (and others) of using generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) to create media content.

More specifically, we are working on developing an advertisement-like online "radio station" that features audio streams of speech, music, and sound content created with generative AI. A prototype is "Stochastic Pirate Radio" (KSPR).

In collaboration with a diverse team of engineers, music researchers, and designers, your job will include the following tasks:

• Developing the functionality of existing KSPR software (see here (https://aimc2024.pubpub.org/pub/rppff8mc/release/2) and here (https://aimc2024.pubpub.org/pub/p9tx21c3/release/2), including the design of graphical user interfaces and program pipelines);
• Maintaining a project archive and documentation;
• Assisting in monitoring ongoing radio programs;
• Helping to organize and conduct workshops with team members.

This position is part-time at 50% over a duration of one year.

Requirements

• A completed degree at the undergraduate or graduate level (higher education) in the relevant field or equivalent competence.
• Strong programming skills in Python and web technologies.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication skills, with very good proficiency in English both written and spoken, as this will be required in daily work.
• Awareness of diversity and equality issues with a particular focus on gender equality.
• You are effective at working both in teams and independently.

About the Employment
