Educator at Tom Tits Experiment

Responsibilities and Qualifications
As an educator at Tom Tits Experiment, you will be an important part of the “Art & Science” unit that works to promote interest in science, technology, and sustainable development. Your main tasks will include developing, planning, and implementing activities for preschool, primary school, and high school together with other educators. This includes school programs, teacher training, and development projects to engage more people in STEM. You will also work on developing the content of Tom Tits Experiment's exhibitions to ensure relevance, scientific quality, and to attract a broad audience to exciting experiences.
Your responsibilities include relevant subject knowledge and subject didactics for all school forms in line with curricula. You will participate in collaborations with academia and industry and have an in-depth collaboration with the schools and education office of Södertälje municipality. The role requires a combination of operational and strategic efforts, where you will collaborate and interact with both children and adults from different backgrounds, in speech and writing. There are opportunities to contribute to both internal and external development within your subject area.
We expect you to:
- Be a licensed teacher in the requested subjects or have another scientific/technical higher education degree with documented experience in pedagogical work.
- Be experienced in developing and leading learning activities for children and adults.
- Have participated in teacher training, lead teacher assignments, and/or professional development activities.
- In addition to your experience in formal learning, also have experience in informal learning and possess pedagogical and didactic skills.
- Be comfortable using IT as a relevant working tool such as Office and Microsoft 365.
- Be analytical and communicative.
- Be curious and solution-oriented.
- Be good at working collaboratively with others.
- Be able to work both strategically and operationally.
- Be self-driven and flexible.
Meritorious:
- Subject knowledge in mathematics and programming.
- Knowledge of and interest in sustainable development.
- Networking within learning and informal learning environments.
- Have a PhD in a relevant field.
About Tom Tits Experiment
Tom Tits Experiment is an interdisciplinary Science Center whose purpose is to create joy of discovery for everyone by making science, technology, and sustainability accessible and enjoyable. In addition, Tom Tits is active in local, national, and international projects aimed at supporting schools in science, technology, and sustainable development. With over 60 employees, we run exhibition activities, teacher training, our own preschool, restaurant, café, conference and event, and a shop.
