Job Responsibilities

The Department of Automatic Control is looking for a postdoctoral researcher with a strong background in and interest in networked control systems, mathematics, and modeling.

The selected candidate will participate in a project focused on creating new mathematical computational tools for fundamental understanding and design of networked control systems, partly with a focus on learning and resilient cyber-physical infrastructures. The work will be supervised by a team consisting of Professors Henrik Sandberg and Karl Henrik Johansson.

The Department of Automatic Control conducts leading research in connected control systems, cyber-physical systems, system identification, and transportation systems. Industrial projects are carried out with partners such as ABB, Ericsson, and Scania. A large part of the research is conducted within the framework of projects funded by the Swedish Research Council, WASP, Digital Futures, Vinnova, the Energy Agency, and the EU. We have a large academic network and collaborate with researchers at Imperial College, Oxford, ETH, Caltech, MIT, and UC Berkeley.

Qualifications

Requirements

• PhD degree or foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD. This eligibility requirement must be fulfilled by the time the employment decision is made.
• Significant documented scientific competence in networked control engineering, cyber-physical security, machine learning theory, or applied mathematics.
• Highly motivated, independent in your work style, while also having very good collaborative skills.

Meritorious

• At the time of the application deadline, no more than three years since the PhD degree or a foreign degree deemed equivalent to a PhD was obtained.
• Teaching ability and documented experience in supervising student project work are meritorious.
• Knowledge and awareness of diversity and equal treatment issues with a particular focus on gender equality are meritorious.
