Social Worker at the habilitation center

The habilitation center is a basic unit consisting of child and youth habilitation, special support and habilitation for adults, as well as vision rehabilitation and hearing rehabilitation. The operations provide counseling and other personal support according to LSS, as well as habilitation and rehabilitation for children, youth, and adults with permanent disabilities.

The habilitation center is a regional operation with approximately 170 employees located in Lycksele, Skellefteå, and Umeå. The mission of the operation is to contribute to good health and the best possible functional ability, as well as good conditions for an independent life and active participation in community life for the children, youth, and adults we meet.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a social worker with us, you contribute knowledge and engagement that makes people feel secure.

You will work with children and youth who have significant and permanent disabilities and their parents. We provide habilitation, counseling, and other personal support according to HSL.

Your responsibilities include providing psychosocial support, counseling, and information to parents. You are often the first person parents meet when contacting child and youth habilitation and who conducts the initial individual planning with the family. Your responsibilities also include collaborating with networks and other services around the family, such as preschool, school, social services, and the social insurance agency. The work often takes place in the person's immediate environment through consultative efforts. You are responsible for individual planning for the family together with other employees. You are also expected to participate in the planning and implementation of training and group activities for parents, the child/youth, and the network.

The work takes place in interdisciplinary teams, and planning is done in collaboration with parents, the child/youth, and the network. In the work team, in addition to the social worker, there are psychologists, physiotherapists, special educators, speech therapists, and occupational therapists. You contribute your specific expertise to the team's work.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who is a trained social worker and has good knowledge of significant and permanent disabilities and the consequences they can have in a person's life. You should have a good ability to work in a team as well as independently.

It is an advantage if you are a licensed health and medical care social worker. A driver's license is required as the job involves travel in Umeå and our surrounding municipalities.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
