Support Assistant at Hissjövägen

The Disability Care Services in Umeå municipality aims to be a resource that liberates and strengthens people's ability to live an independent life through closeness and interaction.

Welcome to Hissjövägen in Haga, a service residence according to LSS for users with intellectual disabilities.

Here, 8 users live who need support in their daily lives.

We are now looking for a colleague to join our team at Hissjövägen!

Your Responsibilities

As a support assistant, you will guide and support individuals with intellectual and mental disabilities in their daily lives. You provide individual, social, and practical support to enable and utilize the individuals' own abilities and thus create conditions for independence.

You work to make individuals active participants in their daily lives and have a meaningful leisure time and/or occupation. Common tasks include supporting users with approved interventions such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, personal care/hygiene, medication, and social activities.

The work also includes record-keeping, documentation in Treserva, and working goal-oriented with individual implementation plans to increase goal fulfillment.

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and night shifts. Coordination may occur between our operations.

About You

You have a genuine interest in disability care, and your working style is characterized by flexibility, continuity, and security. We are looking for someone who has a good ability to create and maintain structure and who wants to be involved in developing the operations. You are engaged and have a desire to share our values and work towards set goals as well as work with continuous improvements.

To communicate with users, relatives, and colleagues, write and participate in care documentation, and receive medication delegation, you need to have good knowledge of the Swedish language in both spoken and written form.

Personal suitability will be given great importance.

Requirements:

  • Qualified nurse, assistant nurse, social worker, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience working in disability care
  • Experience in planning, implementing, documenting, and following up and analyzing interventions in disability care.

Meritorious:

  • Experience working with intellectual disabilities
  • Education or experience in methods such as low-arousal approach, positive behavioral support, clear pedagogical methods
