Do you want to do something meaningful this summer while living on an idyllic summer island just outside Umeå?

As a camp leader at Norrbyskär's camp, you will be part of a dedicated and warm leadership team that together creates unforgettable summers – both for the children and for each other.

We live and work together during the camp weeks, surrounded by the sea, nature, and community. Days filled with swimming, conversations on the dock, laughter, sunsets, and the feeling of being part of something bigger are a big part of life at the camp. The camp offers many activities such as climbing, sailing, canoeing, etc.

At the camp, you can have different roles. Some are more focused on practical work and service such as kitchen assistant, grounds host, and instructor. Others focus on the children and youth.

As a camp leader, you will be with the children throughout the day. You lead and support activities, create safety, encourage, and inspire – and you are an important adult role model. At the same time, you develop yourself through responsibility, collaboration, and new experiences.

No prior experience is needed. The most important thing is that you enjoy being with children and youth, want to contribute to a positive atmosphere, and are curious about growing as a person and leader.

We provide training before the summer, and you will receive support and guidance during your assignment. Everyone at the camp should adhere to KFUM's values.

The camp operates all summer. Assignments are a minimum of one week. All positions require you to stay overnight at the camp. All roles are voluntary. This means you will not receive a salary, but you will get a daily allowance, food, and accommodation. You will also learn a lot about leadership and gain experiences that will benefit you for the rest of your life! Take the chance to give yourself a meaningful summer!
