Dorotea municipality is looking for a therapist for outpatient care

Do you want to work closely with people and help create real change – for real? Dorotea municipality is now looking for a committed and secure therapist for the Individual and Family Care outpatient services.

We are looking for someone who wants to meet people in vulnerable life situations and has the ability to combine professionalism with compassion. You believe in the individual's own power to change and can maintain engagement and motivation even when the work is demanding.

About the position

As a therapist, you will belong to the Individual and Family Care outpatient services and work on behalf of social workers. You will be part of a smaller, close-knit team with two colleagues in outpatient care and in close collaboration with other parts of IFO.

The work is relationship-oriented and practical, with a strong focus on supporting the individual in their daily life. A significant part of the work is conducted in the individual's home and in their natural environment.

Job responsibilities

In the role of therapist, you will among other things:

• Provide support to children, youth, and adults based on assistance decisions
• Work with housing support
• Work with parental support and strengthen parenting skills
• Provide individual support to children and youth
• Work with individuals with substance abuse issues
• Conduct support conversations, practical support, and motivational work
• Support contacts with other authorities and actors
• Participate in multi-party conversations and collaboration meetings
• Assist in supervised visits
• Document according to applicable legislation and guidelines
• Work with day activities

The work is adapted to the individual's needs and may involve both planned and more flexible interventions.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in social work, education as a social pedagogue, treatment assistant, treatment pedagogue, or other education deemed equivalent by the employer
• Good collaborative skills and a professional approach
• The ability to work independently and in a structured manner

Preferred qualifications include:

• Experience in substance abuse care
• Experience in family therapy or work with children and youth
• Experience in outpatient work within social services
