Social Workers for Children and Youth Investigation in Skellefteå

Do you want to make a difference for children and youth in Skellefteå? We are now looking for three dedicated and down-to-earth social workers for the Children and Youth Investigation team to strengthen our units in the west and north. We are looking for someone with a genuine commitment to children and their families who wants to be part of a team where collaboration, competence, and care are at the center. Here you will have the opportunity to influence both people's lives and your own development.

Together, we work to create a society where every child can grow up in safe and developing conditions. We look forward to having you as a colleague!

YOUR ROLE

As a social worker in the Children and Youth Investigation team, you will assess children's needs according to the Social Services Act and BBIC. You will make qualified assessments, document, and make decisions about interventions aimed at creating safety and development for the child.

You will play a central role in collaboration with the child's network – guardians, schools, police, region, and other actors. The work is both challenging and meaningful, and you will have the opportunity to contribute your expertise in a context where every effort counts.

We offer a structured introduction, mentoring support, external supervision, and opportunities for professional development. You will also have the option to work from home when it suits the organization.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone with a degree in social work and good knowledge of relevant legislation. Experience in public authority work with children and youth, as well as working with people in vulnerable life situations, is an advantage. It is valuable if you have experience working with individuals from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds, as well as experience in dealing with substance abuse, dependency, and neuropsychiatric diagnoses.

You are self-assured, have good collaboration skills, and are used to working independently. You easily build trusting relationships and handle challenging situations with a calm and solution-focused approach. Your ability to structure, plan, and make legally sound decisions is crucial in this role. You have good communication skills in both spoken and written Swedish and can formulate legally sound decisions while adapting your communication to the recipient's conditions.

For us, your personal abilities are just as important as formal qualifications. We therefore place great emphasis on your ability to meet children and youth with respect, attentiveness, and engagement. Experience in conversation methodology, such as MI, knowledge of child development, and assessment tools such as BBIC are particularly meritorious.

A valid driver's license (B) is required for the position.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

You will be part of the Individual and Family Care within the Social Office – the largest department in the municipality. The Children and Youth Investigation team consists of the Reception Unit, Family Law, and the Northern, Eastern, Southern, and Western Units. We work according to BBIC and have a strong focus on quality, development, and legal security. Collaboration within and between units is close and supportive, and you will have access to both collegial support and professional supervision.

At the Individual and Family Care, we work to improve people's living situations. We provide support, protection, and guidance – always with respect for individual responsibility and integrity. Here you will meet colleagues who, with courage, care, and collaboration, make a real difference for both children, youth, and adults in Skellefteå.

The position applies annual working hours, and your workplace is in the activity-based part of the city hall in Skellefteå.

Skellefteå is a growing municipality, which means we face new challenges and opportunities. With us, you can influence both daily work and the long-term development of the organization.

GOOD TO KNOW

We recruit based on competence and focus on your experience, knowledge, and potential. Instead of a personal letter, you will answer some selection questions and attach an updated CV. Psychological tests are used as part of the recruitment process.
