Support Pedagogue for Our Group Home at Frögatan 88/90

YOUR ROLE

In Skellefteå municipality, we work to ensure that people with disabilities can live an independent and meaningful life based on their own conditions. This means that support is always tailored individually and adapted to each person's needs, abilities, and goals. As a support pedagogue, you play an important role in implementing this in practice, both in daily work and in the long-term development of the organization. You have specialized skills and extended responsibilities within the team, contributing to a holistic view, quality, and development in the organization. In addition to the tasks shared by all employees, you systematically work to develop and follow up on pedagogical methods and create structure and consensus in daily life. A central part of the role is to support colleagues in the work with implementation plans, documentation, and pedagogical methods. You act as a support and guide without taking over others' responsibilities, contributing to ensuring that work is conducted in a clear and consistent manner. The role requires you to work in a structured and goal-oriented way, with the ability to plan, prioritize, and follow up on efforts over time. You are confident in your professional role, able to stand up for professional assessments while also valuing good collaboration with a focus on the common mission.

YOUR COMPETENCE AND EXPERIENCE

We are looking for someone who has a post-secondary education of at least 200 YH credits or 60 higher education credits with a clear focus on working with individuals with intellectual, cognitive, and mental disabilities. The education should have a clear pedagogical content and cover areas such as attitudes, ethics, and methods. We also welcome those graduating this summer to apply. You have sufficient proficiency in the Swedish language to understand and convey both oral and written information as well as document in a legally secure and professional manner. You can present a passing grade in Swedish 1 or Swedish as a second language 1 and have the physical prerequisites required to perform the tasks. You have experience working with individuals with disabilities, which may include intellectual, mental, or physical disabilities as well as mental health issues. It is an advantage if you have experience mentoring others, introducing new employees, or supporting colleagues in daily work. It is also advantageous if you have worked with pedagogical and clarifying methods, such as visual aids, schedules, and adapted communication. Knowledge of alternative and augmentative communication and sign language is a plus.

YOUR NEW WORKPLACE

Frögatan 88/90 is a group home within LSS, located in central Skellefteå. The facility consists of two floors with a total of twelve residents of varying ages. Here, we work with individually tailored support where pedagogical and motivational efforts are designed based on each person's needs and goals. The focus is on structure, participation, and meaningfulness in daily life. The workgroup currently consists of eleven employees, one of whom is a support pedagogue. Here, you will meet an engaged and welcoming team that works closely together with strong cohesion and joy at work.

GOOD TO KNOW

Working hours are scheduled for days, evenings, weekends, and night shifts. The organization applies a work schedule model where employees plan their own schedules, allowing for flexibility in working hours. Approximately 20 percent of the position is allocated for the support pedagogue role, including support pedagogue supervision every three weeks. The extent may vary over time based on the needs of the organization.
