At the end of May, one of my regular assistants will retire. Therefore, I am looking for an assistant who can work a 76.88% position starting with training in early May. The start date for the position is May 25th. Initially, the position is a temporary hourly employment, but if we get along well, it will transition to 'for a fixed term as long as the assignment lasts'.

The working hours are scheduled on a rolling 4-week schedule on weekdays and weekends from 07:30 to 15:00, afternoons and nights from 15:00 to 07:30, as well as 24-hour shifts from 07:30 to 07:30. We have waiting time at night.

About the job

The User Cooperative in Umeå is looking for a personal assistant for a multi-disabled 37-year-old man with mobility impairments and intellectual disabilities, who lives in his own apartment. I can support myself on my legs but need physical support during transfers. I mostly sit in a wheelchair and communicate through pictures and signs. I enjoy computers, engines, music, and meeting people. You will be my extended arm in all situations of life and help me maintain an active and functioning everyday life.

Tasks include cooking, household chores, and personal hygiene. Your workplace is wherever I currently am. You should be between 20-50 years old. You need to be attentive, open, social, stress-resistant, flexible, and have good initiative. Previous experience working with people is an advantage but not a requirement; the important thing is the chemistry between us. Being able to use signs to support speech is a plus. A driver's license is also an advantage.

For the position, good physical fitness is required as the user is 188 cm tall, weighs 84 kg, and needs support for walking transfers. In this task, it is an advantage to be tall.
