Regional Development Coordinator with a Focus on Financial Auditing

The position is placed within Operational Support at Regional Development, with the workplace located at the Region House in Växjö. Operational Support is a strategic and coordinating function that works with regional, national, and international issues related to the regional development assignment. This includes monitoring the external environment, analyses and statistics, project development, management of regional development funds, and coordination of various collaboration forums.

Since January 2026, Region Kronoberg is also hosting a Europe Direct office, which is located with us.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

In the role of regional development coordinator with a focus on financial auditing, you will work with financial auditing related to regional projects, focusing on both EU-funded and nationally funded projects. You will analyze and review project budgets and financial reports to ensure compliance with regulations and guidelines.

The role is part of the project team, and you will contribute both to ongoing projects and in the work of developing new project ideas and project applications.

Your responsibilities include, among other things:

• analyzing and reviewing project budgets and financial reports
• following up and making forecasts related to the regional 1:1 grant
• working closely with colleagues in the project office and engaging in dialogue with corresponding functions, primarily in neighboring regions

The work is varied and may change over time. You will work closely with colleagues and your immediate manager.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who has:

• A degree in economics or another education that the employer deems relevant
• Experience in financial auditing, including reviewing budgets and financial reports
• Good ability to interpret and apply regulations and guidelines
• Experience working in processes with multiple actors and stakeholders
• Strong analytical skills
• Very good knowledge of Excel
• Good communication skills and very good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written
• Good knowledge of English, both spoken and written

Meritorious:

• Experience in financial auditing related to regional projects and/or public funding (EU or national funds)
• Knowledge of project financing and experience in project development/project applications
• Experience from the private sector
