We are responsible for healthcare, public transport, regional development, and culture in the county. Our goal is for our employees to thrive, grow in their professional roles, and influence their workdays.
The position of Regional Development Coordinator is located within Operational Support at Regional Development, with the workplace at the Region House in Växjö. Operational Support is a strategic and coordinating function that works with regional, national, and international issues related to the regional development mission. This includes monitoring the environment, analysis and statistics, project development, as well as managing regional development funds and coordinating various collaboration forums.
Since January 2026, Region Kronoberg has also been the host for a Europe Direct office. Europe Direct is the local information office of the EU Commission and part of a network of about 450 offices in Europe and 15 in Sweden. The mission is to increase knowledge about the EU, strengthen participation, and contribute to dialogue on EU issues through information and activities aimed at schools, businesses, civil servants, and not least the general public.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
With us, you will drive a mission that strengthens democracy and increases knowledge about the EU for the county's residents. You will be part of Regional Development's international work and contribute to the implementation of the regional development strategy.
In this role, you will work both strategically and operationally, from environmental analysis and planning to conducting meetings, workshops, and larger events. You will stay updated on EU issues and highlight how the EU affects and creates opportunities for regional development.

Communication is an important part of the work. You will inform, inspire, and create engagement through communication in various channels, verbally, in writing, digitally, tailored to different target groups.
The position is varied and can evolve over time, and may also include tasks related to EU funding and collaboration with the joint office of Småland Blekinge Halland in Brussels. The work is carried out in close collaboration with colleagues and your immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone who is collaborative, proactive, and comfortable taking a coordinating role. You thrive in a role where you work both strategically and practically, and where communication is an important tool for creating engagement and participation in EU issues.
You find it easy to build trust and relationships with various target groups and stakeholders, both internally, regionally, nationally, and internationally. You work in a structured and independent manner, take responsibility for driving the work forward, and are accustomed to planning, implementing, and following up on activities.
We are looking for someone who has:
- A university degree in a relevant field (e.g., political science, EU studies, or communication) or other education/experience deemed equivalent by the employer
- Work experience relevant to the position
- Good knowledge of EU issues and interest in the EU's role in societal development
- Very good communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written
- Good ability to work in English (spoken and written)
- Experience collaborating with multiple stakeholders and interest groups
- Driver's license (B)
To succeed in this role, you need to be able to:
- Initiate, plan, and conduct dialogues, events, workshops, and seminars
- Create engagement and contribute to making complex issues clear and understandable
- Produce informational materials and contribute to communication efforts in various channels
- Work with web and social media as part of daily work
