The importance of effective experience management is evident to anyone who has followed the war in Ukraine, and the Army is now taking steps to develop our own processes in this area.
The work with experience management is under development, which means that you may shape your own tasks within a given framework. Managing experiences/lessons learned from various conflict areas, such as Ukraine, along with the lessons we gather in the daily operations of the Swedish Army is stimulating.
Recruiting Unit
The Development Department at the Army Staff's Planning Unit is responsible for the Army's needs for research and technology development, doctrine development, studies and concept development, defense innovation, and international development collaborations. The department also coordinates experience management in the Army. Both civilian and military personnel work in the department.
Main Responsibilities
- Process, analyze, and compile lessons learned/experience materials in the form of reports after exercises and missions or gathered information/lessons from war zones
- Conduct deeper analyses of identified and prioritized areas for improvement
- Independently identify information needs, as well as travel and interact with others both in Sweden and abroad
- Collaborate with the experience section at the Army Combat School and the operations management at the headquarters
- Collaborate with and support experience management at all units in the Army. This may involve contributing to transferring and following up on previous experiences into a new exercise or mission
- Further develop methods for analysis and implementation of improvement measures within the Army
- Participate in studies and projects as analysis and method support
- Support the use of scientific methods in development projects
The responsibilities may evolve over time due to the Army's continued growth.
Qualifications
- Academic education in social sciences, technology, or another area deemed equivalent by the employer
- Very good language skills in Swedish and English, both spoken and written
- Driving license B (manual)
Meritorious
- Work experience from the Swedish Armed Forces (FM), especially positions within intelligence or technical services
- Work experience from the Total Defense Research Institute (FOI) in analysis work
- Completed military service
- Very good skills in working with the Office suite/database
- Good skills/experience in leading training
- Good skills to lead/participate in project work
