Care Assistant with a Focus on Dementia Care

Description

Home Care Klockarbo operates throughout the Söderhamn municipality with individuals who have a dementia diagnosis. The home care group consists of four teams. The position includes working evenings and weekends. You should be flexible and have good abilities to participate in close collaboration with the dementia team, home healthcare, and day services.

Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will primarily involve caregiving in ordinary housing for individuals with a dementia diagnosis. Personal care, hygiene, assistance with meals, mobility, shopping, and regular household chores are some of the tasks. You should have a good ability to meet people based on their dementia diagnosis and any BPSD that may arise in different situations in ordinary housing, as well as the ability to make independent decisions and assess individuals' daily condition. In your work, you will also establish implementation plans, document, and respond to safety alarms from individuals receiving assistance from the home care group. We have a close collaboration with Klockarbo day services, the dementia team, and home healthcare.

Qualifications

We are looking for someone who is a trained care assistant, and it is advantageous if you have previous experience in dementia care, with a strong focus on interaction and the ability to work with great patience. As computers and phones are used as work tools, it is desirable that you have experience with technology. Your responsibilities will include documenting and communicating with various parties, which means you need to express yourself well in Swedish, both spoken and written. A driver's license is required, and you should be prepared to drive in the course of your duties.

As a person, you are secure, stable, and have good self-awareness, as well as the ability to create professional and trusting relationships. You take initiative, share your knowledge and experiences, and contribute to a positive work environment. Home care is an area that is constantly changing, so it is crucial that you are flexible, resilient, and see opportunities in various situations. Additionally, you need to have good collaborative skills and relate to others in a responsive and smooth manner. We also appreciate a good empathetic ability and the capacity to quickly understand someone else's perspective or situation. Finally, we see that you have a genuine interest in working with people and providing service.
