Licensed Physiotherapist to the Pain Rehabilitation Team in Sandviken

The Rehabilitation Medicine at Sandviken Hospital receives patients from all over Gävleborg County. The largest diagnosis groups are stroke, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, and chronic pain. Rehabilitation Medicine consists of an outpatient clinic and an inpatient ward. The outpatient clinic includes a medical reception, a pain rehab team, a brain rehab team, and a spinal cord injury team.

The target group for the pain rehab team is working-age individuals with chronic pain, where the pain affects a large part of life such as daily activities, family, leisure, and work/studies. Many have difficulty managing and participating in activities and physical training, and several are on sick leave. Most have previously tried various treatment interventions without long-lasting effects. As a physiotherapist in the pain rehab team, you will work in a team with two other physiotherapists, an occupational therapist, a sports leader, a social worker, doctors, psychologists, a rehab coordinator, and a nurse. The team works according to a behavioral medicine and biopsychosocial model. This means that physical ailments are understood and treated based on the interaction of behaviors, social factors, and lifestyle factors with biological factors in the patient's condition. The physiotherapist plays an important role in collaborating with the team to conduct a pain analysis and assessment, and then support the patient in living according to their goals and values. The team's approach is based on Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT).

We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist to join the pain rehab team in Sandviken.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Rehabilitation interventions are provided both individually and in groups and occur in close collaboration with other professionals in the team. Examples of physiotherapeutic interventions include reviewing individually tailored treatment based on clinical reasoning, applied relaxation, body awareness training, and training in various environments and contexts to increase the patient's confidence in their abilities. The overall goal is to help the patient return to activities in daily life, leisure, and work. The work primarily takes place in the team's facilities in Sandviken, but training may be conducted elsewhere, for example, at a gym, if necessary. Contact also occurs via phone and digitally.

In addition to being part of the pain rehab team, you will also be part of a physiotherapist group at the clinic, which currently consists of eight physiotherapists.

As a physiotherapist in the team, you will among other things:

  • conduct assessments, rehabilitation, and follow-ups
  • hold theoretical and practical lessons as well as group treatments
  • be responsible for planning and implementing individually tailored physical training and relaxation

With us, you will receive:

  • personalized introduction
  • to be part of an engaged and supportive workgroup where there is always someone to consult
  • the opportunity to influence and develop the operations
  • the chance to work independently and together with others in the team
  • an individual development plan.
