The orthopedic field is a regional joint operation that includes the acute hospitals in Gävle and Hudiksvall. The operation is tasked with providing both acute and planned orthopedic care in Gävleborg County. In Bollnäs, there is an operational area focused primarily on elective procedures within the same field. We collaborate for the benefit of the county's patients.

Hudiksvall and Bollnäs are located in Hälsingland, in the middle of Sweden, and have good communication opportunities. From Stockholm, it takes about 2.5 hours by high-speed train to Hudiksvall and about 3 hours to Bollnäs.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

As a specialist physician in the orthopedic field, you will work in a team with all staff in the various units of the operation and in close collaboration with the region's other operations. The position involves work at both Hudiksvall Hospital and Bollnäs Hospital, allowing you to combine challenging trauma, on-call duties, and elective prosthetic surgery.

In Hudiksvall, you will work with:

• independent acute surgeries and outpatient visits
• supervision and support for younger colleagues in their training
• participation in both acute and elective surgery within several orthopedic sections
• being part of the on-call chain for orthopedics
• participation in regular internal training that promotes knowledge exchange
• working in a well-functioning patient flow with close collaboration between professions and other operations.

In Bollnäs, you will work with:

• elective surgical unit with smooth and efficiently organized flows
• regularly as a prosthetic surgeon with good access to operating time
• contributing to an operation where about 70% of the county's hip prostheses, knee prostheses, and spinal surgeries are performed.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for a confident and engaged specialist physician who prioritizes the patient's needs and enjoys mentoring and training younger colleagues. You are flexible and collaborative, using both your own and others' expertise to achieve the best possible results. You have a professional and empathetic approach as well as an interest in development and improvement work.

In the role of specialist physician, you should:

• be a licensed specialist physician in orthopedics
• have at least three years of on-call experience
• have worked clinically full-time in orthopedic operations in Sweden for the last three years
• master the Swedish language at least at level C1
• hold a valid B driver's license.
