Make a difference. Every day.
Do you want to help create modern care for the patients of the future, be among the first to try our new introduction concept, and work at the New Hospital Area in Malmö (NSM)? Are you a nurse with leadership qualities? Then apply to us!
Since autumn 2022, the Orthopedics Department (VO) has three wards that are pilot units in the Magnet for Europe project, where Skåne University Hospital (Sus) is one of five hospitals in Sweden participating. The concept originates from the USA, where Magnet hospitals are characterized by a good working environment and excellent care, as well as an ability to magnetically recruit and retain staff.
Within the Orthopedics Department at Sus, over 500 employees work, making us one of Sweden's largest orthopedic operations. We operate in both Lund and Malmö. Each year, we receive over 85,000 visits at our clinics and have approximately 6,700 inpatients. Our patient group includes both children and adults.
Our orthopedic ward is an inpatient ward focused on trauma. We also perform some elective surgeries for orthopedic patients with hemophilia. The nursing leader drives improvement work and quality development on the ward together with the rest of the staff. The operation has a pharmacist to facilitate medication management and support with medication-related questions.
At our workplace, we work according to Region Skåne's Competence and Service Model (KTM), which provides a clear structure for your learning and career opportunities within our organization. The orthopedic wards in Lund and Malmö were the first in the country to introduce career positions for nurses based on a structured development program in five phases, which includes training and learning activities in each phase. Each phase is linked to a clear competence ladder, where from phase three onwards, there is an opportunity to apply for a position as an advanced nurse in orthopedics, linked to salary criteria.
RESPONSIBILITIES
As a nurse with us, you will work with preoperative preparations and postoperative care of patients who have undergone various types of orthopedic surgery. You will work in interdisciplinary teams consisting of nurses, nursing assistants, doctors, physiotherapists, occupational therapists, and administrative staff. Together with the team, you as a nurse will be responsible for planning and performing nursing work and medical treatments. During our pulse rounds, all our employees have the opportunity to exchange experiences and knowledge with all our professions. As a nurse, you will act as a group leader in a constellation consisting of one nurse and two nursing assistants.
We offer you as a newly graduated nurse an introduction where you will work together with an experienced colleague for six to eight weeks.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. You have language skills in Swedish that correspond to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe's language scale.
You find pre- and postoperative care exciting and enjoy working with both your hands and your mind. As a person, you are flexible, engaged, and have good organizational and collaborative skills. Furthermore, you enjoy working in a team and always keep the patient in focus during your work. We place great emphasis on personal suitability.
In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. We warmly welcome your application today!
