Professional Galaxy is looking for a System Engineer – Communication Systems and Networks in the Defense Industry on behalf of our client.

We are now seeking a senior system engineer with specialized expertise in networks and communication systems for a long-term consulting assignment with our client in the defense industry. The assignment is central to the development and operation of secure and robust communication solutions for both ground and airborne platforms.

About the assignment In the role of system engineer, you will work with the design, integration, and further development of network and communication systems with high demands on operational reliability and IT security. You will be involved in everything from technical requirements specification and system integration to commissioning and technical documentation. The work takes place in cross-functional teams and requires the ability to communicate technical solutions clearly both internally and to the client.

The tasks include, among others:

• Design, development, and maintenance of communication solutions within defense-related platforms

• Integration and configuration of network components (routers, switches, VoIP systems)

• Ensuring IT security in systems and network environments

• Commissioning and support at the client, including training and documentation

• System testing, requirements analysis, and technical reporting

• Participation in security reviews according to applicable regulations Requirements

• At least 7 years of relevant experience as a system engineer in networks and communication

• Experience from working in the defense industry or the Armed Forces

• Very good knowledge of network equipment and communication technology, including VoIP

• Experience in system integration and operation of complex technical systems

• Knowledge of IT security, including firewalls, VPNs, cryptographic equipment, and network monitoring

• Ability to create clear technical documentation

• Fluent in Swedish and English, both spoken and written

• Experience working in classified environments

  Meritorious

• Certifications such as CCNA and CCNP

• Experience with Cisco CUCM and other VoIP infrastructure

• Experience with signal protection and cryptographic management

• Familiarity with training technical staff

• Proficiency in tools such as NMAP, SolarWinds, Wireshark, HP NNM Other information

Work model: Hybrid Start: August/September 2025 Duration: Permanent, ongoing assignment Security clearance: Yes – the position is security classified and may require Swedish citizenship
