Your responsibilities

You have overall responsibility for setting the direction and driving development within the city's IT infrastructure and IT security. The assignment combines clear strategic responsibility with a driving and coordinating role in implementation.

In the strategic part, you are responsible for ensuring that IT infrastructure and technology choices support the organization's long-term goals by developing and managing IT strategies, target architecture, and principles. You prioritize based on business value, security, and cost-effectiveness, translating external trends into concrete choices for a modern and sustainable IT environment.

At the same time, you play a central role in driving practical work in an environment where all IT operations are outsourced. This means you coordinate deliveries, manage suppliers, and monitor quality, cost, and results. You act as the link between operations and technology, driving progress together with both internal and external stakeholders. You move between strategic issues and more concrete decisions, focusing on coordinating, prioritizing, and following up rather than working operationally on the solutions yourself.

Your qualifications

You have an academic education in IT or several years of experience in the field. You have experience from larger organizations or complex enterprise-level IT environments where infrastructure, architecture, and security are central issues. You are accustomed to working in contexts where supplier management and outsourcing are an important part of the delivery. One of your strengths is the ability to combine strong technical understanding with a clear strategic perspective.

You have experience driving strategic initiatives and translating them into practice. Confidence in navigating between the big picture and details allows you to create structure, set direction, and make well-founded decisions. You also have the ability to communicate technical issues in a way that creates understanding and engagement within the organization. This role suits you if you want to work less operationally and instead take greater responsibility for the whole, priorities, and long-term choices.

The advertisement is during the summer period. Questions regarding the position will be answered during weeks 32-33.

In connection with the interview, you need to prove your citizenship. You can do this with a passport or alternatively a population registration certificate together with an ID document. If you are not a citizen of Sweden, the EU, EEA, or Switzerland, you must show that you have a valid work permit or are exempt from the requirement to have a work permit.
