About the position

As a support pedagog, you support the service recipients in their daily lives while also being responsible for ensuring that routines, action plans, and structures function and develop. You guide colleagues in methods and working practices and are involved in planning, implementing, following up, and analyzing how the operations work. Everything you do is based on each service recipient's individual circumstances and needs.

The role also involves actively working to strengthen the abilities of the service recipients and their personal development. You focus on their participation and on enabling them to influence their own daily lives. To create good living conditions, we use a visual and individually adapted working method, VISA.

Examples of tasks:

  • plan and develop the work together with other staff
  • establish and follow up on implementation plans
  • hold user meetings every four weeks
  • perform service tasks such as cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping, etc.
  • provide cultural and recreational activities
  • take on mentor and representative assignments/responsibilities
  • perform care tasks and, based on delegation, certain medication management

About the workplace

Trollbärsgatan 36 is a group home in Nya Hjärsta where 6 service recipients live and receive support from a staff group consisting of 12 support workers. The operation is located in a single-story villa that is adapted to the needs of the operation. It is easy to reach the workplace by car, bus, or bicycle.

The Department of Social Services in Örebro Municipality provides support and services to people with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act on Support and Service (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

The Social Services Department's area of functional support provides support and services to people with physical and mental disabilities according to the Act on Support and Service for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS) and the Social Services Act (SoL).

Qualifications:

You have good computer skills as the work involves social documentation and you can document in writing what the operation requires.

To fit as a support pedagog with us, we want you to be a secure and stable person, you have a positive view of people with great respect for each person's individual needs and the ability to meet service recipients in a professional manner by being calm, attentive, and accommodating in your approach. You have an interest, a willingness, and the ability to help others, and you strive to deliver solutions. You collaborate well with others and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. Furthermore, you are a secure person and can easily adapt to changing circumstances and communicate clearly. You take responsibility for your tasks and can structure your work approach and you are proactive, often coming up with ideas and new approaches to work-related issues.

We place great importance on personal suitability.

Requirements:

  • degree as a support pedagog, treatment assistant, treatment pedagog, social pedagog, or activation pedagog, alternatively 60 credits in relevant subjects (such as pedagogy, disabilities, psychology, behavioral science, social work, or equivalent)
  • at least two years of experience in the area of functional support

Meritorious:

  • experience working with clarifying pedagogy (e.g., VISA or AAC)
  • ability to cycle
  • driver's license B
  • experience in personal care
  • experience working with floor lifts and/or ceiling lifts

Scope and start date

Employment form: temporary position

Employment rate: 100%

Start date: immediately - June 6

Number of positions: 1

Working hours: day, evening, and every other weekend
