About the workplace

Steget is an association that offers housing support, daily activities, and various activities for adults living with mental health issues. The association was founded in the 1990s by individuals who wanted to provide a better everyday life for their loved ones with mental health challenges. Currently, the organization has 9 housing placements and accommodates up to 14 individuals in daily activities. At Steget, study circles, activities, and employment are conducted based on the participants' abilities, wishes, and needs. Steget collaborates with several external partners focusing on movement, music, foot care, and massage. The purpose of Steget's activities is for participants to achieve the highest possible quality of life based on their own wishes and circumstances. In short, Steget aims to support participants in feeling hope, empowerment, and the ability to influence their lives.

About the job

You will work with participants in their daily lives, which may involve everything from being involved in daily activities to supporting participants with routines. Participants should feel seen and heard, as well as be and feel involved in the activities. The goal is to ensure that each participant achieves the highest possible quality of life based on their own wishes and needs.

You will meet a team with competence and high engagement, focusing on holistic thinking, participation, and safety.

Work shifts are scheduled for days, evenings, nights, and weekends. A collective agreement exists (HVO Kommunal and Fremia)

Qualifications

It is advantageous (but not a requirement) if you have experience working with people living with mental illness. You may be studying to become a social worker, occupational therapist, or psychologist and want to be part of a fantastic organization that thinks a bit differently about people's abilities and circumstances. You are calm, secure, social, and curious.
