On January 14, our new operation "A Way In" started, a reception unit where guardians, children, and young people seek assessment, advice, and guidance regarding mental health issues. We are now looking for an additional licensed nurse and hope that you want to join our team consisting of a nurse, social worker, psychologist, medical secretary, and unit manager.

About the workplace

"A Way In" is the entry point for children and young people aged 0 to 18 who are seeking advice and support regarding mental health issues. Our goal is to create a service that can best meet different age groups and questions based on mixed competencies and experiences. If there is a need for interventions from healthcare, "A Way In" will assess whether support should be offered through the first line (Counseling for children and youth/Youth Clinic) or within specialized care for children and youth (BUP). If support is to be offered through specialized care, information about all relevant BUP clinics according to LOV (Law on Freedom of Choice Systems) will be provided.

Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday between 8 AM and 5 PM, with the possibility of flexible hours if the operations allow. Some remote work is possible in the long term.

Region Dalarna applies a wellness allowance of 2000 SEK/year.

Psychiatric Nurse/Nurse to "A Way In", Borlänge Job Responsibilities

The work as a nurse at "A Way In" includes:

• Receiving, meeting, and assessing incoming phone calls and referrals for children and young people with mild, moderate, and severe mental health issues.
• Providing advice, support, and assessing the need for care and triaging to the right level of care. Patient contact is conducted via phone and digitally.
• If necessary, conducting a structured assessment using the BCFPI (Brief Child and Family Phone Interview) interview form. The result of the BCFPI, together with your overall clinical assessment, will serve as the basis for what level of care the child/youth should be offered continued care at.
• Collaborating with and gathering information from social services and school health services.

We are looking for someone who:

• is a licensed nurse
• has good experience in the profession and good knowledge of and experience working with children and young people and their families.
• has a good and broad competence to quickly make qualified assessments and provide advice and support to parents, young people, and professionals based on their specific situation and needs.
• wants to develop in your profession and be involved in developing a new service.
• has good pedagogical skills and enjoys working in a team.
• is responsible, service-oriented, reliable, and has an easy time collaborating with others.
• enjoys working in a varied and change-friendly environment alongside different professionals and partners.

Meritorious:

• Specialist nurse education in psychiatry
• Basic psychotherapy education
• Experience working in first-line mental health, youth clinics, child and adolescent psychiatry, pediatric medicine, or school health services
• Previous experience with phone counseling and digital healthcare meetings
