Hedemora Municipality is looking for Quality Care Assistants

Hedemora Municipality is now seeking four quality care assistants for our various special accommodations.

The role of a quality care assistant includes both practical and developmental tasks within care and support. Daily tasks involve direct care such as personal hygiene, dressing, meals, and support in daily life, as well as delegated health and medical tasks. In addition, there is a strong focus on quality work where change initiatives are followed up, evaluated, and improved according to the guidelines of the National Board of Health and Welfare.

An important part of the role is guidance and mentorship where colleagues are supported to enhance collective competence. The work of the quality care assistant also includes method and knowledge development, where evidence-based practices are implemented in the operations and contribute to continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include ensuring high quality in care, contributing to a good work environment by supporting employees, and working with systematic follow-up and digital tools.

The quality care assistant's mission is to ensure that care-related routines and processes are current and followed, and to be confident in the role as a role model when it comes to value-based work, professional and qualitative care. The quality care assistant works based on the individual’s needs and understands the importance of precision in systematically working with improvements as well as documentation. The goal of the mission as a quality care assistant is to ensure and develop quality for the individual user.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a care assistant with a quality assignment, you will:

  • be part of the unit's quality team
  • be active in value-based work and mentor your colleagues
  • together with the unit manager drive improvement work and work towards achieving goals based on the unit's operational plan
  • act supportively and informatively to all colleagues in the unit
  • work part of the time in direct care work
  • work according to written implementation plans and established routines but have the ability to independently assess complex situations
  • collaborate with the care team, consisting of colleagues, nurses, occupational therapists, physiotherapists, and the responsible unit manager
  • be active in the development of the operations through representative roles
  • identify areas where there is a need for improvement in the operations
  • work on behalf of the unit manager and the management team within the operations
  • be a coordinator for the professional journey in elderly care

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

  • is a trained specialist care assistant or care assistant
  • has experience working in special accommodations
  • has good communication skills and computer proficiency.

It is an advantage to have previous experience with similar tasks.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability, where qualities such as responsiveness, initiative, flexibility, independence, and a strong desire to develop are crucial.
