School Psychologist for Borlänge Municipality's Child and Student Health
Borlänge Municipality's centrally organized child and student health is a wonderfully dynamic workplace characterized by quality, collaboration, flexibility, and development. Borlänge is the largest locality in Dalarna with convenient connections to neighboring towns such as Falun, Säter, and Gagnef. Through public transport, you can easily travel to and from cities like Hedemora, Ludvika, and Leksand.
The centrally organized child and student health has the mission to support the development of local child and student health and to strengthen the child and student health perspective. A large part of the work is preventive and health-promoting. The work as a whole is varied and takes place at the organizational, group, and individual levels, in collaboration with school staff, guardians, and other agencies, but of course also transprofessionally within the framework of our own operations. Collaboration with other agencies and actors is included as needed.
In the centrally organized child and student health, school nurses, school doctors, school psychologists, speech therapists (both for primary and preschool), special educators for preschool, as well as a medically responsible nurse and a medical secretary work. The organization is led by a unit manager who will be your closest supervisor.
Are you a licensed psychologist and have considered working as a school psychologist - or are you already working as a school psychologist - take the opportunity to apply and become part of our team! As a school psychologist with us, you will be centrally located with other school psychologists and several of the other categories in the Central Child and Student Health, and then work out towards the municipality's various primary schools and high schools.
Support and collaboration exist in relation to the other professional categories in the central child and student health, where collaboration, flexibility, and job satisfaction are guiding principles for the operation. The psychology group also has continuous external supervision as support in their work.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a psychologist within the school, you have an important role in the health-promoting and preventive work of student health. You work from a school perspective on behalf of the principal, where your task is to assist the school as an organization in seeing both challenges and opportunities from the student's perspective.
The overall goal of your assignment is to contribute to creating a good learning environment for students' knowledge and social development.
Important parts of the assignment:
- Psychological competence in transprofessional discussions and assessments
- Consultation and supervision for staff and school management
- Responsible for psychological assessments/investigations with specific questions regarding intellectual disabilities. Provide advice and suggestions for interventions. Refer further to investigations/treatment if necessary.
- Advising and supporting students and guardians based on school-related difficulties
- Competence development and development work at various levels within the organization
There is an opportunity for further education and supervision within the framework of your assignment as a school psychologist.
QUALIFICATIONS
Basic requirements for the position
We are looking for you who are a licensed psychologist with experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults. You have good knowledge of relevant working methods for your work as a school psychologist.
You have a very good command of the Swedish language and also need to have a good command of the English language. You need to have access to a car and a valid driver's license (B).
Personal qualities
You have a good ability to collaborate, both within your own organization and with external operations. You need to be able to work independently and have the ability to structure your work, and you must be able to prioritize tasks and deliver within the given timeframe.
Desirable qualifications
We value if you have experience working with newly arrived students and with multicultural issues. We also see great value in you being used to working in teams and transprofessionally.
