The Diabetes-Endocrinology Clinic at Falu Hospital provides specialized outpatient care for patients with endocrine diseases. The largest patient group consists of around 1050 individuals with diabetes, the majority of whom have type 1 diabetes. We can now offer you, as a nurse, the opportunity to further your education to become a specialist nurse in diabetes care while retaining your base salary. The position is called an educational employment and is a permanent full-time position at the Diabetes-Endocrinology Clinic at Falu Hospital. The training is part-time, meaning you will work/training 50% as a nurse at the clinic during your studies.

As a qualified specialist nurse, you will work in a multidisciplinary team with nursing assistants, diabetes nurses, and doctors. You will have your own clinic, provide telephone advice, and consult with other departments in the hospital. You will work extensively with patient education and self-care support for patients, as well as clinical treatment and follow-up, including medical follow-up, medication adjustments, and documentation. Preventive work is integral to diabetes care, where your support is crucial for the patient.

Requirements:

• You are a licensed nurse and have a bachelor's degree in health science or nursing, or a nursing degree of 180 higher education credits including 15 higher education credits for a thesis or equivalent.
• We prefer that you have at least a few years of experience in nursing.

The educational employment starts in the autumn semester of 2026, and admission to the "specialist nurse program with a focus on diabetes care" is a prerequisite for employment.
