We provide specialized palliative care and are located at Falu Hospital. We have 8 care places and receive patients from all over Dalarna. The care is aimed at patients with severe symptoms of their illness who are in the end stages of life. Our ambition is to make the time of illness as good as possible for the patient and their loved ones.

Nursing Assistant, Palliative Care Department, Falun

As a nursing assistant with us, you will work extensively with care to meet all of the patient's needs together with other professionals. In the department, we have a fixed schedule and most of the staff work rotating day/night shifts. With us, you will have a rewarding and interesting job!

Requirements:

• Trained nursing assistant with a diploma from the Health and Care Program or the Health and Care vocational package in adult education
• Diploma from the Health and Care College

Meritorious:

• Specialization in Emergency Care and Medicine 2 (if you have previously completed the Health and Care Program)

Personal qualities:

It is important that you are empathetic and have a good attitude towards patients, relatives, and colleagues. We place great emphasis on your personal qualities and your understanding of different social and cultural contexts, as well as a genuine interest in palliative care.

Information about the Job Title

As of July 1, 2023, the title of nursing assistant is a protected job title (https://legitimation.socialstyrelsen.se/underskoterska-blir-en-skyddad-yrkestitel/). This means that you need a certificate from the National Board of Health and Welfare to use the title nursing assistant in health and care.

You can apply for the certificate starting July 1, 2023. If you do not have a certificate, you can continue to work in health and care but with a different title than nursing assistant. For those offered a job with us in Region Dalarna after July 1, the title in your employment contract will be Care Assistant until you can present your certificate. If you had a permanent position with the title nursing assistant when the new regulations came into effect on July 1, 2023, you can continue to use the title for 10 years. You can retain the title even if you change workplaces/employers after July 1. After that, you will need a certificate for the protected job title to use the title nursing assistant.
