The psychiatric care in Dalarna offers psychiatric help and care to those suffering from or at risk of developing mental illness. The psychiatric services are divided into three areas: Child and Adolescent Psychiatry, Adult Psychiatry, and Forensic Psychiatry.

You will receive a permanent position as a nurse within the psychiatric services in Region Dalarna. During the academic terms, you will have a training position with a base salary as a nurse. Outside of academic terms, you will work according to a day/night schedule.

Specialist nurses within psychiatry have advanced tasks in specific psychiatric care.

The tasks may vary between outpatient and inpatient care, common tasks include:

- Tailoring care according to patients' needs and striving for good cooperation with relatives and other stakeholders around the patient, such as social services and primary care.

- Working with the assessment of new patients both via referral conferences and during initial assessments.

- Being responsible for follow-up and evaluation of care and treatment results.

- Being an integral part of the development work of the organization and participating in implementing new working methods.

- Providing information about mental health issues and the treatment methods available to various community organizations such as employers, social insurance, municipalities, and other networks.

- In inpatient care, being responsible for planning and organizing a care team.

- Being responsible for planning, organizing, and performing ECT treatment in collaboration with doctors.

- Working with care development, education, and supervision.

You are a licensed nurse with a bachelor's degree in health sciences or nursing, or a nursing degree of 180 credits including 15 credits for a thesis or equivalent.

Several years of experience as a nurse is an advantage, preferably within psychiatry. We are looking for someone who is used to working independently, making their own assessments, and is willing to make well-founded decisions. We expect you to have good collaboration skills and a positive attitude.
