About the Position

The Technical and Maintenance Department (TVA) is the technical office of the Swedish Air Force responsible for continued airworthiness, maintenance production, modification activities, and common technical issues for all aerospace material systems in the Air Force. Part of TVA is located in Såtenäs, where we organize 2.TVS. We are now looking for an Airworthiness Engineer (LVI) for the role of publications and regulations as well as the Gripen Information System (ISG) for the JAS39 aircraft.

As an LVI, you will work under the Chief/Maintenance Leader (VMHL) and be supervised by the Technical Chief for the JAS39 Material System (TCM). The position means that you will coordinate working groups for the units and the Armed Forces, drive functional development and change needs to relevant instances within FMV and industry. In other words, work to ensure that conditions exist for the operational usability of the JAS39 aircraft.

Main Responsibilities

  • Represent TCM regarding their tasks related to continued airworthiness
  • Functionally responsible for ISG from a maintenance perspective
  • Collaborate with FM CAMO, FMV, and industry in forums regarding publications and ISG
  • Drive change and improvement proposals and functional development for ISG
  • Coordinate and lead working groups within FM CAMO and with FMV and industry regarding publications
  • Operator-customize approved data and manage Technical Orders (TO), Technical Instructions (TA), and supply management related to publications.

REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications

  • Trained aircraft technician, relevant engineering education, or equivalent work experience that can be assessed as equivalent by the employer
  • Specialist officer SO7, alternatively civilian with competencies deemed equivalent by the employer
  • Experience in leading continued airworthiness (within CAMO)
  • Good knowledge of relevant regulations (RML V-6D/V-6A or EASA Part M/Part 145)
  • Good knowledge of Swedish and English, both spoken and written
  • Driving license B.

You see the big picture in complex matters and can develop strategies and suggest what needs to be done, are flexible, and take initiative. We are looking for someone who has the ability to work in a team as well as independently. You have a good ability to express yourself verbally and in writing. It is important that you are a good representative of the Armed Forces and stand behind the Armed Forces' values. Great emphasis will be placed on your personal suitability.

MERITORIOUS

  • Type course on JAS39 or another flight system
  • Experience in aircraft maintenance or work with continued airworthiness within the Armed Forces
  • Experience in processes within the Armed Forces' material production, material supply, and maintenance production
  • Experience in working with operational follow-up and support systems used within the Armed Forces (Fenix, Prio, LIFT, etc.).

Position: Specialist officer SO7, alternatively civilian.

Employment type: Permanent employment. The Armed Forces applies a six-month probationary period for those not employed by the authority.

Employment rate: Full-time.

Start date: By agreement.

Work location: Såtenäs, Luleå, Ronneby, Halmstad, or Linköping.

Travel in service may occur.

The Air Staff's first and largest task is to support the Chief of the Air Force's leadership of all squadrons and schools in the Air Force at all levels of the conflict scale. The Air Staff develops, plans, implements, and evaluates orders and directives issued by the Chief of the Air Force. The Air Staff consists of about 350 employees.
