Physiotherapist in Neurosurgery in Lund
REGION SKÅNE 29 days left
to apply for the job
Make a difference. Every day.
Do you want to be part of an engaged and positive team? Are you interested in neurosurgery and enjoy working both independently and in a team? Do you want to develop both professionally and personally? Don’t hesitate to apply for the position of physiotherapist within the Neurosurgery Department in Lund.
The Neurosurgery Department in Lund is part of the Neurosurgery and Pain Rehabilitation Unit at Skåne University Hospital (Sus). We are one of seven neurosurgical units in Sweden, providing highly specialized care to the Southern healthcare region. We care for patients with injuries and diseases of the central nervous system. Within the unit, we provide intensive, intermediate pre- and postoperative care, as well as surgical care and outpatient services.
We work health-promoting with the patient at the center. All rehabilitation and supportive interventions are based on the patient's own conditions and goals. We strive for individuals to take responsibility for achieving change and improvement in their rehabilitation.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are now looking for a physiotherapist who finds neurosurgery interesting and wants to work with these patients. The position is a temporary employment during the parental leave of one of our employees and extends until January 29, 2027.
As a physiotherapist, you will primarily work on the ward, but work in the neuro-intensive care unit (NIVA) and outpatient services is also included. Working hours are scheduled during the day, Monday to Friday, with occasional shifts during holidays.
On the ward, primarily postoperative patients are cared for. Your work as a physiotherapist includes performing neurological functional assessments, fitting and applying hard neck collars, following up on treatment, mobilizing, and training patients after surgery. We are a surgical unit, and our lengths of stay are relatively short, which is why initiating rehabilitation interventions is often the norm. You will be part of the active work for a safe discharge for the patient through collaboration with the municipality and primary care in Mina Planer. The work is patient-centered and rehabilitation-focused. We work interdisciplinary, and you will primarily collaborate closely with the unit's occupational therapist.
The position also involves working with patients in NIVA, our Neuro Intensive Care Unit. Here, you will work with early mobilization, respiratory care treatments, and assessments of neurological functional status at an early stage.
We strive to continuously improve, and we value initiative and innovative thinking. With a generous attitude towards development and deepening knowledge related to neurosurgery and job tasks, we encourage active learning over time.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for a licensed physiotherapist with the authority to practice within Swedish healthcare. Language skills in Swedish at least corresponding to level C1 according to the Council of Europe's scale are required. Basic computer skills and experience with the Melior journal system are desirable.
The work is both team-based and independent, which requires you to have good collaboration skills as well as the ability to structure and plan your days. We also see that you are responsible, flexible, and can quickly adapt to changing circumstances. Creativity and initiative are assets as rehabilitation must be tailored to the patient's needs and situation. We place great importance on personal suitability.
In this recruitment, we apply continuous selection. Welcome with your application!
