Project Manager for Solna City

We are now looking for someone who wants to take an important step in the service of democracy and contribute to safe, fair, and accessible elections.

Solna City is seeking an engaged and organized project manager who wants a key role in the upcoming elections for the parliament, municipal and regional councils. The position is a project employment until September 30, 2026.

About us

The Election Office is part of the City Administration, a central function in the city that supports all committees and boards with administrative tasks. The City Administration includes a central committee secretariat, registration, city archive, investigators, internal services, and a guardianship office. The Election Coordinator has the overall responsibility to coordinate the work with the preparations and implementation of elections for the parliament, regional and municipal councils, and receives support from all employees in the City Administration during the election year.

The office is organizationally part of the administrative department of the City Management Administration, which consists of three units; the City Administration, the Security and Safety Unit, and the IT and Digitalization Unit. The administrative department also provides legal support to the city's administrations and coordinates the city's data protection work, reporting directly to the department head.

Our Offer

  • An exciting and meaningful role.
  • Competent colleagues and close leadership.
  • Good communication opportunities with proximity to subway, light rail, commuter trains, and buses.

What does the job entail?

In the role of project manager, you will work together with the Election Coordinator to prepare, implement, and follow up on elections for the parliament, municipal, and regional councils. You will be particularly responsible for planning and executing early voting. This involves recruiting and training polling staff, scheduling, preparing venues for early voting, ordering and managing election materials, and more. The work involves close collaboration with both internal and external stakeholders to create a safe and fair election for all eligible voters.

Who are we looking for?

We are looking for someone who is structured, collaborative, and solution-oriented, and who wants to contribute to a strong and vibrant democracy in the municipality. You thrive in a coordinating role where you keep many parts together at the same time, and you have the ability to see the big picture while managing the details. As a person, you take your own initiatives, are confident in leading others, and find it easy to build good relationships. You also need to be able to switch between strategic work, where planning and long-term structure are in focus, and operational efforts in everyday life.

Requirements for the position:

  • Academic education, for example in political science, social science, law, or another field that we assess as equivalent.
  • Very good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing.
  • Driver's license (B).

It is meritorious if you have:

  • Previous experience working with elections.
  • Experience in leading projects.
  • Experience in leading others, e.g., as a coordinator or team leader.
  • Work experience from the municipality or other public sector.
