The Environmental and Urban Planning Office works with building permits, building control, measurement, maps, GIS and environmental coordination, as well as planning issues. We are located in Mörby Centrum, 15 minutes from T-Centralen by subway. There is an opportunity for remote work part of the week based on the needs of the organization. At the office's environmental department, we work with environmental and health protection issues as well as food control on behalf of the Environmental and Urban Planning Committee. Our department consists of 8 competent and engaged colleagues who work every day for a good and healthy environment and safe food.

JOB DESCRIPTION

As an Environmental and Health Protection Inspector focusing on strategic issues, you will handle incoming cases and conduct inspections according to the Environmental Code within the department's assignment related to environmental and health protection. Exact job tasks can be shaped in dialogue based on profile and organizational needs. You will be responsible for the department's environmental monitoring of air and water. In your role, you will work on issues related to traffic and noise, which are two areas that are constantly relevant in Danderyd Municipality. You will also participate in collaboration forums, respond to consultations, and conduct inspections on objects related to the municipality's infrastructure, primarily including Roslagsbanan and E18. You will participate as a resource in the municipality's planning work and contribute to it with the department's expertise in environmental and health protection.

QUALIFICATIONS

You have a university degree in environmental and health protection or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have a couple of years of experience as an inspector and we see that you have good knowledge of the Environmental Code with associated EU regulations and the Administrative Procedure Act. Furthermore, you have experience in a politically governed organization and understand the assignment as a public authority representative and enjoy all its nuances.

It is an advantage if you have experience working with issues related to traffic, noise, air, or water.

To succeed in this role, we see that you are a person who easily creates new relationships and enjoys having many different contacts within and outside the municipality. You communicate simply and target appropriately and believe that good collaboration is important for solving problems and advancing environmental work. As a person, you are unpretentious and share both knowledge and experience with your colleagues. You work in a structured manner and plan and carry out your work independently. You absorb information and make assessments without missing either the details or the whole. The department is small, which means we help each other to solve problems, develop the organization, and achieve its goals together.

You need to have a driver's license for a passenger car but not your own car. The municipality has a car and bicycle pool. In Danderyd, everything is close, so we often use electric bicycles to get around.
