Department of Environmental Science

The Department of Environmental Science is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science.

The department consists of four units with over 170 employees including researchers, teachers, PhD students, and technical/administrative staff from more than 30 different countries. Research and teaching are conducted in environmental chemistry, ecotoxicology, atmospheric science, and biogeochemistry. As a staff member at the Department of Environmental Science, you will be part of a dynamic environment with world-class research and a strong international character.

Research at the Unit for Atmospheric Science focuses on increasing the understanding of the composition of the air and its impact on climate and health. The properties and effects of atmospheric aerosol particles are of particular interest in the unit's research.

Job Responsibilities

We are looking for someone to collaborate with us on a project aimed at developing and applying new methods to study the interaction between aerosol properties and cloud formation using a numerical cloud parcel model. The tasks include modeling the microphysics and chemistry of air parcels moving within the atmospheric boundary layer.

Qualifications

We are looking for candidates with a master's degree in meteorology, atmospheric science, climate science, physics, or equivalent. Experience in cloud parcel modeling and analysis of experimental data on particle concentrations and size distributions is required. We also expect you to have knowledge and understanding of aerosol microphysics and the key chemical reactions in the atmosphere.

About the Employment

The position is full-time and limited to four months. Stockholm University applies individual salary setting. Start date according to agreement.
