Department of Molecular Biosciences, Wenner-Gren Institute (MBW)
conducts experimental basic research in molecular cell biology, integrative biology, and infection and immunobiology.
The research environment is characterized by modern and advanced methodologies and has a strong international profile. MBW is one of the larger departments within the Faculty of Science at Stockholm University, with over 30 research groups and approximately 180 employees, of which 65 are doctoral students. Project Description
The position is available in the laboratory led by Dr. Martin Jastroch. We are looking for a highly motivated researcher with an interest in evolution and physiology. Our lab studies energy metabolism from the organism to the molecule. Our focus is on investigating the molecular components of thermogenesis.
Responsibilities
The position includes project leadership, scientific writing, and research on a highly innovative project exploring the evolution of thermogenesis through comparative genomics. Experience in phylogenetics and bioinformatics is advantageous. High motivation, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills are prerequisites.
Eligibility Requirements
A researcher is primarily employed for research and must have obtained a doctoral degree or have a foreign degree that is assessed to be equivalent to a doctoral degree.
Assessment Criteria
In the appointment process, special emphasis will be placed on scientific competence and experience in evolutionary biology and computational modeling.
The position is full-time and is limited to a maximum of 12 months.
