We are looking for an overall environmental support for Maintenance, Western Region, at the Swedish Transport Administration.

This is a consulting assignment.

The position is full-time. This assignment requires physical presence at the Transport Administration's office at least three (3) days a week. Remote work may occur by agreement with the client.

The assignment involves close collaboration with the client, which places high demands on flexibility and teamwork.

The Assignment

The role of environmental support means that you provide proactive and condition-creating support within the knowledge area of the environment. The environmental support assists Maintenance project managers with environmental issues* that arise within the maintenance operations and in various implementation phases, such as design, procurement, execution, and project closure.

The assignment consists of the following:

• Resource consultant, overall environmental support for the Maintenance department in the Western Region.

The assignment includes transferring knowledge to employees at the Transport Administration regarding the tasks performed by the resource consultant for the Transport Administration.

Responsibilities

The work primarily consists of supporting Maintenance project managers with their contracting activities in various environmental issues, but support to other parts of the Maintenance operations is also included.

Common tasks include:• Participate and be responsible for environmental issues during supplier follow-ups.• Support in authority matters.• Assessments in matters concerning water activities.• Preparation of notifications, permit applications, and consultation documents.• Support in matters concerning material handling.• Support in matters concerning environmental assurance before work such as culvert replacements, ditch cleaning, etc.• Handling of urgent matters resulting from environmental accidents, derailments, and culvert collapses, etc.

Other tasks may also occur, such as reviewing documents produced within projects such as plans and final documentation, participating as an environmental specialist in meetings, training the organization in environmental matters, and administering the case mailbox.

The work places high demands on communication, teamwork, responsiveness, flexibility, and personal responsibility.

Travel in the position

This assignment requires occasional travel in connection with supplier follow-ups (rounds). The travels take place within the Western Region (Västra Götaland County and Halland County).

Requirements (IMPORTANT, mandatory)

Fluent Swedish in speech and writing.

• At least three (3) years of higher education or university degree in the field (academic education with an environmental focus or technical education with extensive practical experience in environmental work).• At least five (5) years of practical experience in the role of environmental consultant or similar.• Experience working with environmental matters in the public sector.• High analytical, communicative, and pedagogical ability. Verified through reference assignments.• Independence – very high. Verified through reference assignments.• The consultant must be able to express themselves verbally and in writing in Swedish.• B driver's license.

Meritorious

For the client, it is an added value that the offered resource has worked as environmental support in a client organization with project activities within road/rail.

A valid Work on Road Step 1 must be presented before the start of work. Verified through certification.
