About the position

Come and apply for a position as an environmental inspector with us at the environmental and health protection unit! The position includes close contact with colleagues and managers, as well as a great opportunity for further education through training and knowledge exchange. Within health protection, eight employees work, of which one has chosen to seek further opportunities, and it is that position you will be applying for. In the group, there is a coordinator who helps support and prioritize cases and is a great support in achieving goals and other operational-related issues that may arise.

In your job, you will conduct inspections of health protection activities, which include indoor environments and infection control, as well as activities focusing on risk groups. This includes temporary accommodations (camping, hostels, etc.), professional hygiene activities such as tattoo artists, and proactive housing inspections where we check the indoor environment in apartments. The tasks may vary throughout the year, and you will also handle incoming reports, applications, and complaint cases, among others. There are opportunities to adapt the content of the position based on any previous experience and preferences.

You will work with regulatory authority both in a group and independently, and you will always have support from your colleagues, coordinator, and manager. Being an environmental inspector is a varied and enjoyable job with many different types of cases to handle!

What we are looking for in you as an employee

In this job, you are expected to:

• Be attentive, dare to think outside the box, and positively challenge working methods
• Independently inspect various activities to see if there are deficiencies that may affect people's health or the environment. Your assessments will primarily be based on the Environmental Code but also on other relevant laws and regulations
• Collaborate with your colleagues by discussing deviations and possible solutions in various cases.
• Have a lot of contact with private individuals, authorities, and companies, which requires a genuine interest in building good social contacts and providing good service

In this position, you should have the following competencies:

• Education in the field of environmental and health protection inspection or similar (such as environmental science) that is considered relevant to the profession and current knowledge in the area.
• Good language skills; able to write and speak fluently in easily understandable and correct Swedish. The language should be simple to understand, and you should provide the recipient with accessible information that is legally secure and clear.
• Valid B driver's license as you will be driving in the position.
