The Environmental and City Planning Office works with building permits, building control, measurement, maps, GIS and environmental coordination, as well as planning issues. We are located in Mörby Centrum, 15 minutes from T-Centralen by subway. There is an opportunity for remote work part of the week based on the needs of the operation. In the office's environmental department, we work with environmental and health protection issues as well as food control on behalf of the Environmental and City Planning Committee. Our department consists of 8 competent and engaged colleagues who work every day for a good and healthy environment and safe food.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As an environmental and health protection inspector with a focus on environmental protection, you will work with processing and supervision according to the Environmental Code in perhaps Stockholm's coziest environmental department. You will work broadly with environmental protection supervision and conduct supervision of the municipality's environmentally hazardous activities. Areas that may be included are, for example, vehicle operations, golf clubs, agriculture including plant protection products and chemical products. You will handle and process incoming cases such as exemptions within protected areas, notification cases, questions, and complaints. Waste issues may also be included in the work. Exact areas may vary over time based on competence and interest.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for an inspector who has a college or university education with a focus on environmental and health protection, or other education that the employer assesses as equivalent. You have experience in a politically governed organization and understand the role of an authority person and enjoy all its nuances. To succeed in the role, you have worked for a couple of years as an inspector, you are comfortable working with several different subject areas and enjoy searching for and finding information to then use it in your daily work. You easily familiarize yourself with new subject areas and related legislation and are confident in your assessments. You have good knowledge of the Environmental Code with associated EU regulations as well as the Administrative Procedure Act. It is an advantage if you have experience working with waste issues.

As a person, you are unpretentious and share both knowledge and experience with your colleagues. You enjoy having a varied workday and being able to plan and execute your work yourself. You work independently but with the support of colleagues and management. You absorb information and make assessments without missing either the details or the whole picture. The department is small, which means that we help each other to solve problems, develop the operation, and achieve the operational goals together.

You communicate simply and target appropriately and write clear decisions and inspection reports. In the role, you meet operators, politicians, municipal residents, and colleagues in other administrations, which means that you find it easy to create new relationships and collaborate to succeed in the assignment.

You need to have a driver's license for a passenger car but not your own car. The municipality has a car and bicycle pool. In Danderyd, everything is close, so we often use electric bicycles to get around.
