Do you have a strong interest in preparedness and security issues and want to contribute to the tasks of the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth as a preparedness authority? Then you should apply to us!
The Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth is Sweden's authority for foreign trade, trade-related international development cooperation, the EU's internal market, and trade policy. It works with issues such as the EU's free trade agreements, Swedish companies' opportunities to import and export, and poverty alleviation through trade. At the Agency, you will find yourself in an international environment where major trade policy issues are mixed with concrete problem-solving for individual companies and individuals. Our vision is sustainable trade without barriers. We have about 100 employees, and our new activity-based office is centrally located in Stockholm.
The Agency is a growing authority with several new tasks. Since the summer of 2025, it has been a preparedness authority with sector responsibility for the new sector of foreign trade. In our work to develop our new tasks, we need reinforcement in support and governance, especially regarding preparedness and security issues.
As part of the administrative unit, you will have a central function in the organization. The unit consists of about 15 employees who work with operational and strategic support in areas such as IT, registration, archives, HR, finance, procurement, office and property administration, law, as well as security and preparedness.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
As a preparedness officer, you will support management, supervisors, and employees with a focus on the Agency's tasks as a preparedness authority. The role includes independently and collaboratively planning, implementing, and following up on the Agency's preparedness work.
You will work with analyses and plans such as risk and vulnerability analysis, risk and vulnerability assessment, and capability planning. Furthermore, you will work with continuity management, the Agency's contact and management functions, as well as training and exercises. You will propose improvements, development activities, and draft proposals for governing documents and routines. You will also have tasks related to the Agency's security and signal protection.
As the role is part of the Agency's overall security work, you may, in addition to preparedness issues and security protection, receive tasks related to information security, data protection, and cybersecurity based on your competence and the needs of the organization.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a relevant university or college education, such as a law degree or education focused on crisis preparedness, public safety, or security protection.
You likely have previous experience working with preparedness planning within total defense and good knowledge of the regulations related to the area, such as the regulation on the preparedness of state authorities and related agency regulations. It is an advantage if you have worked in a similar role at a government agency. We also consider it meritorious if you have completed training focused on preparedness and security protection at the Swedish Defence University or educational institutions that the Agency deems equivalent.
As a person, you are attentive, listen well, and are appreciated for your smooth collaboration style. You have a solution-focused approach to your tasks, drive tasks forward independently, and complete them with good results. It is also important for the job that you have good problem-solving and analytical skills, can understand complex issues, grasp the questions, and draw conclusions about the best way forward.
The position is classified in a security class and requires Swedish citizenship. A security review with a background check will be conducted before a hiring decision is made.
