Welcome to the Care and Support Administration
We work with support and care for the elderly and for people with disabilities. The goal is for them to live as active and independent lives as possible.
The Care and Support Administration is one of Sweden's largest employers in municipal care and support. Here, about 7,500 employees work based on our values – making a difference, working together, and welcoming innovation. With us, there are great opportunities to take responsibility, develop, and contribute with your expertise. We strive for an organizational culture based on trust and pride in our work.
More information about working in Uppsala Municipality can be found at Uppsala Municipality (https://www.uppsala.se/jobb/vard-halsa-omsorg/).
Within the Care and Support Administration, we have full-time as the norm. This means that all permanent employees essentially have a full-time position. More information about what this means for this position will be provided during a potential interview. Exceptions (from full-time as the norm) are personal assistants.
Do you want to make a difference – every day?
At Nature and Service, we create a meaningful everyday life for people with disabilities. Through our daily activities, we offer not only employment but also community, development, and joy. We believe in individualized support, alternative communication, and respectful interaction – so that each person feels safe and included. We are now looking for someone who, with commitment, warmth, and attentiveness, wants to contribute to our participants experiencing a really good day, every day. Are you ready to be part of something that truly makes a difference? Welcome to us!
Nature and Service offers daily activities for about 200 participants, distributed across approximately 25 different operations. The purpose is to provide our users with meaningful employment and the opportunity to change environments. Some activities involve simpler tasks. Participants may have extensive support needs and sometimes challenging behaviors. Communication occurs in various ways, and we use alternative communication such as visual aids, signs, and body language to create understanding and participation.
We currently need to strengthen our team at Nyby Service Group
There, we collaborate with the home care service at Nyby service house. We are part of the house's operations and assist with various activities and tasks they have, such as laundry, some cleaning, etc. We have a good collaboration with the Meeting Point Nyby and the residents of the service house.
Job Description
As a work supervisor with us, you will play an important role in creating an inclusive and supportive environment. Your main tasks will be to provide individual support and service according to the Support and Service Act (LSS) to the participants of the operation, work with a low-affective approach, and promote the participants' independence and involvement in their activities. You will also conduct activities with participants both individually and in groups, provide support during meals and toilet visits as needed, and collaborate with other staff. Documentation according to legal requirements in Lifecare is also part of the job.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained nursing assistant or has studied the child and leisure program. We would also like you to have pedagogical training or training in communication, such as AAC. A prerequisite for the job is that you have previous experience working with people with disabilities.
You need to have a B driver's license for a manual car and good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written.
If you have further education in pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant field, or vocational training as a support pedagogue, it is an advantage.
As a person, you take initiative and start activities and achieve results. You easily adapt to changing circumstances and can quickly change your perspective and approach. You see opportunities in changes. You are calm, stable, and controlled in stressful situations. You maintain a realistic perspective on different situations and focus on the right things. You work well with other people and relate to them in a responsive and smooth manner. You listen, communicate, and resolve conflicts constructively.
