About the Workplace
The Department of Education and Childcare includes preschools, primary schools, secondary schools, special education for both primary and secondary levels, adult education, as well as cultural and leisure activities. The Culture and Leisure Department is responsible for the municipality's youth centers, cultural school, libraries, and sports facilities.
Nynäshamn Library, with its two branches and book bus, has 17 employed librarians, library assistants, and library and literature educators. The libraries in the municipality have high lending rates and many visitors. In addition to the library and cultural bus, there is also an art hall, a municipal art collection, and a photo and folklore archive, making the library a central cultural actor in the municipality.
We are now seeking a librarian for 80% placement at the Sorunda branch and the main library in Nynäshamn. The library is currently located in the White Villa, next to Kyrkskolan. This is a smaller replacement library. In the autumn of 2027, Sorunda Library will move into newly renovated premises in the new Sorunda School. You will be involved in the planning for this. The position is primarily located in Sorunda and involves work with both children and adult visitors, but with a focus on the adult target group.
What We Are Looking For
To succeed in this role, you have:
- A degree in library and information science
- Experience in public libraries
- Good IT skills
- Good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written.
It is advantageous if you have:
- Experience in promoting reading and knowledge of children's literature and media worlds
- Experience working in Quira and good digital competence.
- A B driver's license and a personal vehicle to reach the workplace, as public transport is limited.
The work requires you to be social, flexible, curious, and innovative. You have good collaboration skills but are also capable of working independently. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
