The libraries in Danderyd consist of Danderyd Library in Mörby Center, Djursholm, Enebyberg, and Stocksund libraries. We work together to create a relevant and interesting library service based on the library plan, the Convention on the Rights of the Child, and the municipality's operational goals.

Our library plan extends from 2025 to 2030 with three important focus areas: promoting reading and cultural experiences, knowledge and information, and accessible meeting places characterized by accessibility, participation, and safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The role of the children's librarian involves encouraging a love of reading and language development for the target group. You collaborate with your colleagues and network with educators in preschools, Open Preschools, Family Centers, and Child Health Centers.

Additionally, standard library work such as staffing, book displays, purchasing, and locating media is included. You will also work with colleagues on the Bokstart project aimed at the very young aged 0 - 3 years.

Your base will be at Danderyd Library in Mörby Center, but the project entails an outreach working method.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

• Has a degree in Library and Information Science or another education deemed equivalent by the employer
• Has good oral and written communication skills in Swedish
• Can conduct book talks and library tours

As a person, you are creative, engaged, and self-driven, bringing new initiatives and ideas. To thrive in the role, it is important that you have a strong interest in children and can create suitable activities for them. You possess good social skills, are considerate, and have a strong service mindset for library visitors. Furthermore, you are collaborative with a focus on the common goal. We place great importance on personal suitability.

The work requires you to have knowledge of children's literature.
