About the Job

As Staff Engineer, your technical leadership extends well beyond a single team. You’re not only solving problems — you’re shaping how the organisation solves them. This is where impact scales across people, systems, and strategic outcomes.

Systemic Impact

You lead critical initiatives that span teams and influence how we build at scale:

- Architect complex systems with long-term thinking.

- Identify patterns across teams and introduce shared solutions.

- Balance immediate delivery with sustainable engineering practices.

You're like an urban planner: designing the infrastructure that supports not just one building, but a whole neighbourhood — setting standards, guiding connections, and enabling growth.

Cross-Team Leadership

You bridge teams, disciplines, and priorities:

- Facilitate alignment across engineering, product, and design.

- Help teams navigate trade-offs with empathy and clarity.

- Spot risks and misalignments early, and help course-correct.

You bring people together to solve the hard, messy, ambiguous problems — the kind that require both technical insight and emotional intelligence.

Trusted Expertise

You are a source of deep expertise in one or more technical domains, and you use that influence to:

- Raise the bar on architecture, performance, and security.

- Support technical decision-making across the org.

- Mentor Senior Engineers and guide their growth.

You make hard things feel possible. And you help others see the forest — not just the trees.

Examples of your impact

- Led the redesign of a core platform used by multiple teams.

- Drove adoption of a new architectural pattern org-wide.

- Partnered with Product to shift team priorities toward longer-term outcomes.

- Mentored a group of engineers and saw them grow into senior roles.

Strategic Voice

At this level in the organisation, you’re part of shaping not just technical decisions, but organisational direction:

- You provide input into quarterly planning and roadmaps.

- You represent engineering in leadership forums.

- You help identify gaps in capability, and influence hiring.

You see technical excellence as inseparable from team health and business success.

Who you are

You are looking for a challenge in complicated and technically advanced solutions. You are skilled in organizing and prioritizing your work in an efficient manner and have a high level of quality consciousness in your work and excellent collaboration skills.

You have a very important role in our culture, where we expect you to:

- Challenge without ego.

- Share credit generously.

- Seek progress over perfection.

You don’t just inspire confidence — you build it in others.

We expect you to have:

- 10+ years of experience within software development

- Great knowledge of software design

- Excellent skills in several coding languages

- Experience in agile development in a team

- Excellent communication skills, written and oral

- As a minimum a Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science or related field

As our customers operate within fields that require security clearances, all employees of 4C Strategies need to be able to obtain a security clearance if required and have a valid Swedish work visa.
