IT Technician at Malmö City’s IT and Digitalization Department

The Support Unit at Malmö City’s IT and Digitalization Department is looking for IT technicians to be placed in our service desk. The operation delivers reliable and accessible IT support to all employees in Malmö City. As part of our team, you will contribute to a smooth and efficient IT environment for our colleagues in the city.
1st-line is the first contact with the IT and Digitalization Department, and your professional approach and high-quality service contribute to the customer's experience of the entire organization. The role is an important part of building trust in our IT support and facilitating the digital everyday life for employees in Malmö City. The role should ensure that every contact is perceived as helpful, safe, and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Respond to incoming cases with a friendly and service-oriented approach.
- Register, categorize, prioritize, and document clearly and correctly in our case management system.
- Cases that are not resolved in 1st-line should be escalated to 2nd-line and should contain clear and necessary documentation for further handling.
- Ensure that the customer is informed about the handling of the case in a solution-focused and pedagogical manner with high-quality customer service to meet Malmö City’s expectations.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Relevant university or vocational education or other training with a technical focus combined with experience deemed equivalent by the employer.
- Previous work experience in customer support for at least 6 months.
- Good administrative skills.
- Good understanding of the digital workplace and the ability to solve IT-related problems, as well as a strong interest in troubleshooting and addressing IT-related issues.
- Fluent communication in Swedish, both spoken and written, as well as good proficiency in English, both spoken and written.
Meritorious
- Work experience from the public sector or large complex organizations.

As an IT technician with us, you need to see the whole picture and take into account the larger perspective, where you understand your role in the organization. Since you will have a customer support function, it is essential that you thrive in a social context where you also have the ability to be outgoing and create good contacts and relationships.
In the role, you will work on solving and analyzing problems, which requires you to have good problem-solving and analytical skills. Furthermore, we see it as very important that you are self-driven, able to take responsibility for your tasks, and independently structure and drive processes forward. You are organized and have the ability to prioritize your tasks so that you meet set deadlines. As an IT technician, you will need to show understanding for people's differences regarding their ability to absorb information, which requires you to adapt your way of conveying the message in a pedagogical manner for the recipient.

We are IT & digitalization professionals who, with our deep technical expertise, strive to understand and meet the digitalization needs of Malmö residents and employees. Together, we are about 120 colleagues with a broad mandate to deliver city-wide services to all operations.
We are located in new modern premises at Kungsgatan 6 in the heart of Malmö.
