Assistant Nurse for Night Shift at Lindängelund
Lindängelund is located in the scenic Lindängen area, close to parks and many walking trails. We also have a beautiful garden that we enjoy when the weather permits. There are good bus connections to this location. Lindängelund is a group home with a focus on dementia care. There are 4 departments, one of which is for sign language users who are deaf and deafblind, where individuals over 65 from all over Sweden can apply for residency. This department functions as a regular nursing home for the elderly, except that the staff is trained in sign language and has knowledge of the history, culture, and living conditions of the deaf/deafblind community.
Lindängelund has one floor with a total of 40 apartments and is staffed around the clock. During the day, Monday to Friday, there are nurses on site. Doctors and rehabilitation staff visit the residence every week. We work with person-centered care with the individual in focus. All meals are prepared on-site by our own chefs.
We are now looking for an assistant nurse for a night shift.
Job Responsibilities
As an assistant nurse with us, you will help and support residents with care interventions based on assessments and the individual needs and wishes of the residents. This includes personal care, cooking, cleaning, laundry, and any shopping, as well as medical interventions performed under the delegation of licensed personnel. In addition to supporting residents in their daily lives, you will also work with a rehabilitative approach, which means that by motivating and stimulating residents, you contribute to their ability to do as much as possible on their own.
You will also need to document events concerning the residents in Lifecare, which is Malmö City's journal system. At Lindängelund, we work with a contact person system, which means taking responsibility for one or more residents, even for staff working nights. Your role as a contact person includes writing and updating implementation plans, working with BPSD, and maintaining good contact with other professional groups regarding the residents. We aim for our work to function smoothly during transitions from evening to night and further to morning, ensuring that care and support are always connected.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is a trained assistant nurse, preferably with further education in elderly care and/or dementia diseases. Experience working with dementia patients is an advantage.
You need to have good computer skills to document in LifeCare. This also requires that you have a good ability to express yourself in writing in Swedish. Knowledge of sign language and/or training in sign language and deaf competence is required.
As an assistant nurse with us, you should have a strong commitment to working with people and good collaboration skills. You are confident in your role and have a good demeanor with a positive attitude towards change and challenges. You are good at communicating and can adapt to different situations and individuals.
